Meme-ish and Quizzical

It took me forever to think of these; personal habits are normal to yourself - other people are weird;) I have no idea who has already done this, so I'm not tagging anyone else. It's strange - these things can be such fun, but I'm so unsure of where I stand with a lot of my LJ friends, or how many actually read what I write. And, I'm so slow to get to these things that everybody's already done it before I get there;)

I organize my shelves of books/DVDs/VHS by author/series, size, color, publisher, and any other visible distinction. For someone as lackadaisical as I am about cleaning, it's kind of strange that I get so obsessive about organizing my shelves.
When I feel stressed/trapped, I get on I-565 and drive for an hour or two - nothing like 70 mph to make me feel free.
I kiss the foam when I pour a glass of Diet Coke - makes the foam go down faster and not spill over the sides. I discovered that skin contact made the foam go down when I had my finger too close to the top of the cup once when I was in college. One of my roommates was grossed out by my putting my finger in my own cup (as if I'd do that to someone else's drink!) so I tried just taking a sip - lips work just as well as fingers, and the foam tickles - it's cool, you should try it;)
I developed the need for a nighttime noisemaker when I was in college - it's a lot easier to ignore the other noises around you when you have acclimated to a louder, closer sound. In college I used an ordinary fan, but now I have a noisemaker with six looped recordings - I use the RAIN sound.
As I mentioned before, I'm not exactly a neat freak, but every so often I get in a mood and I just have to clean everything. It's kind of irregular, maybe every couple of months or so, but it drives me nuts if I can't go ballistic on the clutter when I want.

Date: 2006-01-03 10:12 pm (UTC)On volleyball: better you than me! I have crooked arms - when we played volleyball in PE or at church activities, I never knew *where* the ball was going to go. It got a little better when Dad showed me a different way to serve (using the inner edge of the fist rather than the palm-side) but I never quite managed to enjoy the game...
