chrystallineCare Bears...again with the Care Bears! I can't look at anything relating to Care Bears without laughing, thanks to the continuum collision madness at OFUM...

What, pray tell, is an Earth Pony? I remember a variety of Ponies, but I outgrew them about the time they started stretching them tall and giving them transparent plastic Flutter wings. What a pity I didn't get some shade of purple, though...

Love this pic, BTW. I have a poster size print of it, along with another lady and knight by the same painter, Edmund Blair Leighton. Fell in love with the above image the first time I saw it, years ago, and then, just a couple of years ago I found the print. At the time, I had just gotten a roommate (when a friend needs a place to stay, friends help;) and we had some disagreement on decor. I was certain she'd like these prints, so I promptly bought both (and some gold tone poster frames) and brought them back with me. Immediately after looking at them, she says, "I don't really like them." Figures! They grew on her, though, and she definitely preferred them to my prior decor (horses all over the living room;)

My review:
Parody. Well, I suppose it is, except it is much more mocking of people on the Net than it is humor related to LOTR. "You have to understand the people..." Apparently not.
"So you mean to tell me that if I write something that PPC and Godawful doesn't like, they'll flame me to a crisp? But if I tell them a bunch of whoppers about me, they'll pat me on the back and bring me cookies and milk?"
"That's about the size of it."
Untrue, and unfair. I'm upset enough about being deceived, but this insulting garbage...! I am angry, and no, I have not missed the cute correlation between Tiffany/Thalia and deWinter/Weaver. I don't care who you are, this is a direct insult to anyone who ever associated with either Thalia or the above-libeled groups, and I would very much like to see it come down.
scaldebar, how is it hypocritical to be deceived? Look to yourself first, I daresay. I would like to know how you would have known better.

Starbrat's review wasn't there when I started, but I agree there, too. This ticks me off. I didn't want to believe that Thalia lied about everything, and I wanted to believe she was serious about turning her life around, but. There always has to be a 'but' doesn't there? Reports of people seeing her online while she's 'taking a break' pose a bit of a problem for that. [mirthless laugh] I'm willing to forgive her if she's willing to repent, but until she makes a genuine change in her life, I can't give her the fresh start she claims to want. It's all well and good to ask forgiveness, but it carries the responsibility of change, and I know I'm not the only one who isn't convinced. Been avoiding the topic for a while so I could sort out my own feelings; I actually was harassed when I was in school. Getting slammed against a wall so hard you don't remember the fall to the floor during PE or having someone bounce a basketball off your face and leaving your own teethmarks in your lip during a game is not fun. And that's just to name a couple of incidents. I was sympathizing with her, because I *have* experienced these things, and she was making it up. I'm still having trouble with that. I wanted...I still want...to believe she's serious about making things right, but...I'm not seeing it. I don't know whether I more want to cry or scream with rage.
My RL to-do list is getting bigger the more I postpone:\ Wonder how long it'll be before the sales office starts screaming for the money I haven't gone and collected yet...meetings and chores and trying to figure out for myself the things no one ever teaches you to do in school. Most annoying part of college is that they never teach you how to strike out on your own. All they focus on is, "here's how to go to work for someone else." Well, what if I don't want to work for someone else!? What if no one is doing what I want to be doing? What if I want some say in what I do for the rest of my life, hmmm? Aggravating. College teaches you to work for someone else; no one ever teaches you how to work for yourself.
And for another mood switch, what is better, long posts with cuts, long posts without cuts, or multiple posts all in a row? And does anyone use any of those "download a client" things? Any recommendations? Have a cable modem, so it's not like I have to log on and get off quickly (which is what I used to have to do...3-4 computer users and one phone line equal a problem;) but maybe a client would make this a little simpler?
