You know, I don't think I've ever seen a meme that created your entire LJ post for you before. (Of course, I didn't like its format, so I hacked it up anyway;) I found this thing through someone on David Hewlett's new message board. The ironic thing is, I only clicked the link to her LJ because it was an easy way to open a new browser window so I could paste something else in - I think I was looking for fandom_lawyers. TrustFlow II: Who is closest to your friends
list?


I'm just as not-keen on the name of the application as the strangely numerous commenters, but I don't personally see a point in belaboring that to the creator. It's not like I would code something like this! Too time-consuming and not fun. Also don't quite get the number of people asking, "but what's the point of this thing?" Er, folks, what's the point of any of the countless meme things smeared across the internet? It's interesting. It's a little different. It's a reason to check out more new people and see if they might be new friends. Quit overanalyzing it. Relax - it's supposed to be fun.

It's operating on the premise that friends of your friends are good candidates to be your friends, too. I don't really get the whole numbering thing, but it's interesting to look at a list of names rather than use LJ's "friends of friends feature" which shows recent posts (and is only available to paid members), if I recall correctly, or going to each of your friends' userinfo or friends pages and trawling for names that look promising;)

:: shrugs :: It's not like it's a big deal. That's what gets me about all the clamor at the creator's original post - people are making a huge deal out of the fact that it doesn't mean much.
