Spammers never quit, it seems, and I boggle. Really, now, one would think I would have to at least buy a ticket in order to win a UK NATIONAL LOTTERY, if not actually live there. They hid the recipients list, so it wouldn’t be quite so obvious that I wasn’t the only “winner,” and at least the hotmail address has a proper .uk suffix. Still, I had to laugh.

Gah!!!

I keep getting bombarded with those!!! Geez! I've gotten at least..umm...3 dozen in the last couple weeks! Shoot! If they want to give away money, sure, but umm...er...*sigh*

Though, the best so far was the one from South Africa looking for a "lovely, Christian friend in the United States, with which to share their fortune so that it can be in turn shared with the 'poor and needy'". Um...I'm poor and needy, does that count? ;-)

I did email that one back and ask how they got my email address, to which I got another "form" letter asking for my personal contact info.

*shakes head*

Yeah. I only post the funny ones, though; the straight-up spam is less funny and more plain tiresome. The would-be scammers are more fun. Maybe I'll post some of the ones I actually fell for, but was suspicious enough to save myself before it was too late.

Then there're the scams I forward to the spoofed company, only to get a form email back warning me about the dangers of phishing and how to recognize it. Um, if I forwarded you a message saying, "this is phishing, go get 'em," I do know how to recognize it, hmmmm?
