Sorry for dropping off the face of the net; having computer problems, am going to have to reinstall opsys. Again. :P Hopefully it won’t take too many days to get everything restored and reinstalled.

I have thought about using WordPress (since I found out Blogger doesn't seem to publish blogs to personal domains anymore only allowing domains to redirect to your Blogger blog) so I might just go that route. I did look into redirects but I don't have enough control over my livejournal to implement any of the more advanced redirects I prefer (so I don't need to rely on my visitor to decide if they want to click an extra link to see my blog).
LOL I wouldn't say you're uninteresting but you simply showed up about 10th in my Google search for "redirecting my livejournal to personal domain". Although your catchphrase Sparkly Purple Vanilla Girl did draw the eye. :P

Thanks for all the info!

LJ will do that, too, for paid accounts; I had that for a while before I switched over. Wasn't enough for me, either; same with the click to redirect. Actually, it sounds like you have a lot of the same reasons for switching to your own host that I did. Partly I wanted to have more control over the template/theme, too. I start with an existing theme and hack it up; my current theme looks almost nothing like how it started:)

Ah. That'll do it, too. I was just curious, because I couldn't see any obvious connections; we're not in any of the same groups or interests (well, comics, but that's it) and none of the same friends. I don't get a lot of comments, so I sometimes wonder if anyone but my personal buddies actually read what I write.

My friends gave me that nickname in college because those are three of my favorite things. I liked it, so I figured it was as good a subtitle as any:)
